One part of ‘Fertilities Journey’ talks about the story of a women who suffered from serious blood clots due to the contraceptive pill, nearly ending her life and almost preventing her from being able to have a family. I wanted to provide an opening that allowed for women to speak about the difficulties they may face during their fertility journey because I believe society doesn’t give them the opportunity too. The second part of ‘Fertilities Journey’ discusses much of the same difficulties through menopause, a topic that is hardly spoken about but can cause issues for women in their later lives. To do this I depicted my mother’s own journey with menopause and what it means for her.
